Telecoms Infrastructure Challenges in Focus as ICT Stakeholders Converge

The inaugural West Africa Telecoms Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition (WATISE) is set to bring together key players from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry in Lagos. The event aims to address the challenges related to telecoms infrastructure that hinder the growth of the digital economy in the region.

Distinguished attendees include the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Kashifu Inuwa, the Director-General of the Nigerian Information and Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, Chairman of the Association of Licensed Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ALTON), and other industry stakeholders.

The West Africa Telecoms Infrastructure Summit and Exhibition (WATISE), taking place in Lagos from October 3rd to 4th, 2023, aims to explore investment opportunities in the tech sector and attract more investors. With participants already registered from Tunisia, Egypt, and the Republic of Benin, the event focuses on the theme “The Future of Infrastructure, Connectivity, and Services: A New Interdependent Ecosystem of Partners.”

It will bring together prominent telecoms and ICT companies to exchange knowledge, influence industry developments, and foster networking. Discussions will cover significant digital transformation trends and telecom infrastructure-related aspects like Submarine, Connectivity, Security, Data Centers, Internet Exchange, and Wholesale Digital Transformation.

The event will draw over 200 global companies specializing in Data/Capacity, Submarine, Content Providers, Technology, Internet Exchanges, Security, Data Centers, Cloud, and related segments.
