Andrew Agbo Abu Graduates from SPPG, Joins Public Leaders Network Alumni, Reaffirms Commitment to Nigeria’s RESET Agenda

Andrew Agbo Abu, Founder and President of Young Innovators of Nigeria (YIN), Chairman of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Abuja Chapter, and Convener of Abuja Tech Week, has announced the successful completion of a rigorous 10-month leadership development journey at the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG), marking another milestone in his commitment to public service, institutional reform and national development.

Abu, who shared the news with his constituents, elders, professional colleagues and associates, expressed profound gratitude to God for the opportunity to complete the programme, describing the experience as a marathon shaped by courage, resilience, learning and a renewed sense of responsibility to Nigeria.

Over the weekend, he also joined the alumni community of the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG), strengthening his connection to a growing network of public leaders committed to building a more accountable, inclusive and development-oriented Nigeria.

The SPPG is recognised for its unconventional approach to leadership development, with an emphasis on character, competence and capacity. Its model seeks to equip participants with the knowledge, values and practical skills required to contribute meaningfully to governance, public policy and institutional transformation.

Reflecting on the journey, Abu reaffirmed his belief that leadership is a continuous learning process and that the challenges facing Nigeria require leaders who combine faith, knowledge, integrity and evidence-based action.

“We will continue to seek knowledge and trust God for wisdom. Nigeria must be okay, and each of us has a responsibility to contribute to making that aspiration a reality. We must become agents of hope, reform and national reconnection, working towards a Nigeria where institutions deliver, opportunities expand and citizens can trust the systems that govern them,” he said.

Renewed Commitment to the RESET Nigeria Agenda

Abu further emphasised the need to translate leadership training into practical outcomes that improve the lives of citizens. He described his commitment to the Renewed Hope vision of rescuing and reconnecting Nigerians as a call for purposeful leadership, stronger institutions, innovation-driven development and policies grounded in measurable results.

According to him, Nigeria’s development aspirations must be supported by credible data, strategic thinking, technology-enabled solutions and a commitment to accountability.

His professional engagements across technology innovation, digital transformation and civic leadership have consistently focused on connecting government, industry, academia and young innovators to address national challenges.

As Founder and President of Young Innovators of Nigeria, Abu has championed initiatives aimed at promoting technology entrepreneurship, digital skills, innovation policy and opportunities for young Nigerians. Through his leadership of the Nigeria Computer Society, Abuja Chapter, he continues to promote collaboration among technology professionals, institutions and policymakers.

He is also the Convener of Abuja Tech Week, a platform bringing together government, technology companies, investors, innovators and development stakeholders to explore how technology can accelerate economic growth and address emerging urban challenges, including smart mobility, clean energy and smart-city development.

His completion of the SPPG programme adds a governance and public-policy dimension to these engagements, reinforcing the importance of connecting technological innovation with institutional capacity and citizen-centred leadership.

Faith, Data and the Future of Nigeria

Abu noted that his graduation does not represent the end of a learning journey but the beginning of a deeper commitment to responsible leadership, public engagement and national transformation.

He expressed appreciation to God, his family, mentors, elders, colleagues, fellow participants and everyone who supported him throughout the 10-month programme.

He also called on Nigerians, particularly professionals and emerging leaders, to invest in continuous learning, contribute their expertise to nation-building and remain committed to solutions that can be measured by their impact on citizens.

Reaffirming the philosophy that guides his professional and civic engagements, Abu concluded with a statement that captures his blend of faith and evidence-based leadership:

“In God we trust; all others must come with data.”

For Abu, the message is clear: faith provides the foundation, knowledge strengthens the vision, and data helps determine whether policies, institutions and leadership decisions are delivering the desired results.

As he joins the SPPG alumni community, he renews his commitment to using his experience in technology, innovation and governance to support a more prosperous, accountable and connected Nigeria.
