NCS Sets November 20 for NITMA 2025, to Honour IT Trailblazers

The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has announced that the 2025 edition of the National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA) will hold on November 20, 2025, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

NCS President, Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, disclosed this at a press briefing in Lagos, noting that the awards will recognise outstanding individuals, institutions, and governments that have significantly contributed to the growth of Information Technology (IT) in Nigeria and beyond.

He explained that NITMA 2025 will also feature the conferment of Professional and Honorary Fellowships on distinguished personalities who have played key roles in advancing Nigeria’s IT sector. According to him, the event underscores NCS’s commitment to celebrating excellence, innovation, and leadership in the country’s digital ecosystem.

Dr. Aliyu reaffirmed the Society’s status as Africa’s largest IT professional body with over 35,000 members, adding that under his leadership, the NCS remains focused on being strategic, innovative, and globally competitive. He urged the media and industry stakeholders to support and provide full coverage for the awards, describing NITMA as Nigeria’s most prestigious platform for honouring IT excellence.

Also speaking, Mrs. Shulammite Ilebiyi, Chairperson of the Publicity, Trade, and Events Committee at NCS, stressed that NITMA remains a vital platform for acknowledging and rewarding both individuals and organisations that have shown exceptional commitment to IT practice and the development of the profession in Nigeria.
