TED 2026 Strengthens Nigeria–India Partnership as Programme Steering Committee Visits Indian High Commissioner

The Programme Steering Committee (PSC) of the 4th Edition of the Technology Ecosystem Dialogue (TED) / Abuja Tech & Digital Economy Week 2026 has continued its strategic stakeholder engagement with a high-level courtesy visit to His Excellency, Ambassador Abhishek Singh, High Commissioner of India to Nigeria, aimed at deepening international collaboration and encouraging the active participation of the Indian business and technology community in this year’s event.

The delegation was led by Hon. Andrew Agbo Abu, Chairman of the Programme Steering Committee/ Chairman Nigeria Computer Soceity, Abuja , who reaffirmed TED’s commitment to building strategic global partnerships that will accelerate innovation, investment, and sustainable digital transformation across Nigeria and Africa.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Abu noted that the theme of this year’s programme, “Energizing Smart Mobility: Powering Cities of the Future,” aligns strongly with India’s globally recognised achievements in digital public infrastructure, smart city development, clean energy, digital identity, startup innovation, and technology-enabled economic growth.

He emphasised that Nigeria and India share common aspirations in leveraging technology to improve urban mobility, enhance energy access, create digital jobs, and build resilient, future-ready cities.

The discussions explored opportunities for collaboration in areas including smart mobility, Artificial Intelligence, digital infrastructure, renewable energy, innovation ecosystems, technology transfer, entrepreneurship, digital skills development, and investment promotion.

The Programme Steering Committee also formally invited the Indian High Commission, Indian technology companies, investors, manufacturers, startups, development institutions, and the wider Indian business community in Nigeria to participate in TED / Abuja Tech & Digital Economy Week 2026 through strategic partnerships, exhibitions, investment dialogues, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

The Committee expressed its profound appreciation to His Excellency, Ambassador Abhishek Singh, for the warm reception accorded to the delegation and for his positive disposition towards strengthening Nigeria–India cooperation in technology, innovation, enterprise development, and sustainable urban development.

The High Commissioner’s willingness to explore areas of collaboration with TED 2026 reflects the growing importance of international partnerships in advancing Nigeria’s digital economy and innovation ecosystem.

The Technology Ecosystem Dialogue (TED) / Abuja Tech & Digital Economy Week 2026 is Nigeria’s flagship technology and innovation platform, bringing together government, industry leaders, investors, innovators, development partners, academia, startups, and policymakers to drive conversations and partnerships that accelerate inclusive digital transformation.

Scheduled to hold from 25–27 November 2026 in Abuja, the fourth edition will feature high-level policy dialogues, investment forums, exhibitions, innovation showcases, startup engagements, capacity-building sessions, and strategic networking opportunities focused on shaping the future of smart cities and the digital economy.
