The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mallam Kashifu Abdullahi, has reiterated the agency’s commitment to shaping Nigeria’s digital landscape into a global hub for tech talent. NITDA aims to foster innovation and reposition Nigeria as a prominent player in the technology sector. This declaration was made during the Texcellence Conference 2023, organized by CWG Plc in Lagos, under the theme ‘Innovating for the Future.’

The DG emphasized the transformative power of digital technology, which has not only created innovation hubs but also revolutionized the way people work and live. He called upon the tech industry to explore opportunities in both traditional and future industries within the technology space. Abdullahi stressed the need to innovate our lives in the present while considering the future we aspire to create, with technology as a driving force.

He highlighted the role of technology in personalizing interactions with customers and making businesses more efficient. Abdullahi expressed NITDA’s dedication to empowering over three million Nigerians in the next four years by providing training and support to encourage young talents to thrive in technology-related services.

Abdullahi also underscored the significance of building trust and collaboration between the government and the tech ecosystem, believing that a strong partnership can drive positive change.
