NITDA DG Receives NiRA Annual Report, Commends Efforts to Strengthen Nigeria’s Internet Ecosystem

The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, has received the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) Annual Report from the Association’s President, Adesola Akinsanya.

The presentation took place following a briefing by NiRA leadership on the Association’s yearly activities, key milestones, and ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s internet and digital landscape.

During the meeting, Akinsanya provided an overview of NiRA’s achievements over the past year, including progress in the management and administration of the .ng country code Top-Level Domain (ccTLD), initiatives to boost local domain adoption, and efforts to enhance the security and resilience of Nigeria’s internet infrastructure.

The briefing also highlighted NiRA’s collaboration with stakeholders across the public and private sectors to drive digital inclusion, promote local content, and ensure that Nigeria’s digital growth is anchored on a robust and trusted domain name system.

Inuwa commended NiRA for its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s internet ecosystem and reaffirmed NITDA’s support for initiatives that align with the agency’s mandate of driving digital transformation and promoting a sustainable digital economy.

The presentation of the Annual Report serves as a continuation of the regular engagement between NITDA and NiRA, both of which play critical roles in shaping Nigeria’s digital future.
