The National Identity Management Commission has announced that its National Identity Number Verification Service is unavailable due to service provider maintenance.
On Saturday, the NIMC published a press statement headlined “NIMC NIN verification service momentarily unavailable.”
“The National Identity Management Commission wishes to warn the general public that its NIN Verification Service is now unavailable owing to maintenance work being performed by one of the Commission’s network service providers,” it said.
“The NIMC wants to reassure the public that once the repair is completed, verification and authentication services will be restored.”
The NIMC apologized for the outage and promised to restore service while advising that users use the NIMC app’s alternative tokenisation verification platform.
“The Commission regrets any trouble this may have caused our valued consumers, and all hands are on deck to guarantee a prompt restoration.”
“In the meanwhile, the public can use the alternative Tokenization verification platform,” according to the announcement.
