Financial Inclusion: NIPOST Partners ePayment Firms to Target 38m Nigerians

Nigeria’s Postmaster General Dr Ismail Adebayo Adewusi, has signed a partnership agreement with operators of eGate and Visa to facilitate digital financial services, issuing of payment cards and support financial inclusion across Nigeria.

The initiative targets about 38 million adult Nigerians who are completely financially excluded.
Adewusi who revealed this to journalists in Abuja Wednesday August 3rd, 2022 stated that NIPOST had a strategic plan to provide financial inclusion services as part of Nigeria’s digital transformation plan.

He said, “Today we take this plan forward by signing with eGate, one of the leaders on digital transformation and our consultant who leads our digital transformation plan and Visa, the world leader in digital payments.”

The NIPOST boss quoted El-Sagheer as saying the agreement would enable NIPOST to provide digital financial services using Visa credit and prepaid cards to unbanked customers to support financial inclusion, government e-Services and cashless society.
