The Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, is proud to celebrate a landmark anniversary: 70 years of women in policing. This celebration honors seven decades of courage, resilience, and dedicated service since the first cohort of policewomen joined the Force in 1955. The milestone highlights the essential role women have played in strengthening law enforcement and building community trust nationwide.

To commemorate this historic event, the Inspector-General of Police will join serving and retired female officers for a series of activities scheduled for the 3rd and 4th of December, 2025.

They have consistently demonstrated integrity, empathy, and a commitment to excellence in their service to the nation, redefining policing with a sense of compassion and purpose.

The anniversary events will feature a national lecture, a historical exhibition, interactive panel sessions, and a community outreach program. This celebration underscores the IGP’s dedication to fostering inclusivity, professionalism, and continuous capacity development for women within the Force.
