eBanking Services; UBAs Leo to Disrupt More Customer Experience

United Bank for Africa, Africa’s global bank, has announced that plans to honor the 4th anniversary of its flagship artificial intelligence Chabot have been completed, with additional offers expected to further redefine the face of digital banking in Nigeria.

“Undertaking the unthinkable by hooking 3 million users in less than three years of its inception, UBA was born on January 11, 2018, with a firm resolve to prioritize its customers as well as put the bank at the heart of disruptive technologies that will transform the experience of esteemed customers.”

Leo, according to the bank, has proven to be the most formidable artificial intelligence chat bot to date, supporting an ever-growing customer base with fewer transaction headaches to worry about.

To expand its reach even further, UBA has finalized plans to provide Leo services on Instagram and Google Business, platforms that none of its competitors can claim.

Mr. Kennedy Uzoka, UBA’s Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, stated that UBA customers believe that Leo is one of the bank’s largest investments in cutting-edge technology and has been progressively altering the face of banking in Africa.

“Three years later, with almost 4 million customers and counting, UBA’s Leo has unquestionably remained Nigeria’s best banking chatbot due to its quickness and quick learning intelligence, and has continued to improve with plenty to offer its thronging clients.”

“While other financial institutions are still trying to find their footing in terms of Artificial Intelligence, we can proudly say that our Leo has become a massive success as it continues to build on its successes and accolades, winning several awards in the short time it has been in existence,” he added.

“Leo’s landmark achievements have been truly overwhelming in just four years, spanning 20 African countries and garnering over ten prestigious awards globally, a feat that is exceptional by any standard, and I must say we are proud of Leo’s intimidating achievements, which are largely unbeatable,” Uzoka continued.

“With this in mind, we’ve made certain that Leo continues to receive frequent and methodical upgrades, with a focus on greater developments and specialized unique features as needed.”

“UBA’s objective has always been to be a dominant force in Africa’s digital banking arena, and it will continue to be so.” Our commitment is to deliver an unrivaled experience across all platforms. We are a technology-driven organization with extensive knowledge of the industry, and Leo, as a tried, dependable, and intelligent personality, did an excellent job of replicating the success it had on the Facebook Messenger platform, where it began its journey, and later on the IOS (iPhone Operating System) platform. It is a system that is simple to use for anyone, regardless of demographics, from the customer’s perspective. “Leo is always willing to assist with any type of banking service,” Uzoka stated.

Leo can perform a variety of tasks, including money transfers, call card top-ups, account balance checks, bank statement retrieval, instant account openings for new customers, statement to embassy/other banks/microfinance, airtime/data purchases, bill payment (LCC, PHCN, Cable TV), and effectively assisting with savings and spending limits.

“The AI chatbot also has a number of noteworthy unique features that enable consumers to perform financial services such as Request/stop/confirm Cheques, Block card, Log & Track Complaints, ATM/Branch Locator, Freeze accounts, and check the weather, among other things.” “Other features include Customer Care complaint resolution, connection of new accounts, flight payment, linking and funding of prepaid cards, travel notification, Wakanow services, and Dubai Visa service,” he added.

Customers who have used Leo are overjoyed with their experience and credit it with automatically pulling account details without problems, according to the GMD, who added, “Testimonies abound about how it is typically easier to use Leo compared to its equivalents.” For example, Leo recognizes account numbers from a customer’s WhatsApp cellphone number and proceeds to enable clients check their account balance and top-up airtime in a smooth manner.”
