At the launch of Rated-Artisan Services Limited, a wholly-owned Nigerian software solutions provider, Prof Isa Ali Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, was represented by Babangida Abdullahi Gilo, Head, Corporate Liaison and Advocacy Unit, National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR).
He praised the efforts of the Startup Digital Company for the products that offer an ecosystem that brings ultimate convenience in service delivery with the proprietary intelligent enterprise as well as e-Commerce applications, while indicating that the initiative supports the Federal Government’s target of achieving 95 percent digital literacy by 2030.
“Numerous activities being carried out in this company are without a doubt gaining traction, and this contributes to shaping our thinking toward not only maximizing our socio-economic opportunities as a people but also creating a platform for advancing tech-driven entrepreneurship towards national development,” Pantami said, emphasizing the need for more indigenous solutions.
The Minister, who praised the innovative solutions as timely, urged other Nigerians to come up with “crazy ideas” to help the country realize its goal of becoming a digital nation.
“Given the growing need for ecosystem stakeholders to explore how to better harness the immense opportunities presented by ICT, our current realities point to the fact that the world economy’s future is digital, and IT in particular has become one of the most talked-about topics in our society today… IT is a versatile tool that is already changing people’s lives in a variety of ways. As a result, we must make sure that we get the most out of technology while also safeguarding vital human values,” Pantami concluded.
Kashifu Inuwa, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), who was also represented at the event by Yakubu Musa, the Acting Coordinator of the Office for Nigerian Digital Innovation, reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to supporting the development of indigenous solutions to the country’s current challenges.
“It’s commonly stated that where there are obstacles, wealth is generated, and money is created where there are chances.” We’ve gathered to honor Rated Artisan for identifying a difficulty and pursuing the opportunity given by the challenge to create riches for Nigerians.”
He believes it will create a climate conducive to startup growth, attraction, and protection.
“These programs and initiatives must have precise, quantifiable, achievable, realistic, time-bound objectives as well as an implementation structure to assure their success.”
Earlier, Dr. Inya-Agha Gabriel, the Managing Director of Rated Artisan Services Limited, said that the innovative solutions such as RatedArtisan, RatedAcademy, Banga, and Ecoforce are structured for businesses to meet the growing demands in today’s digitally advanced business environment, while presenting the Al-Driven Mobile Applications.
Other speakers joined in applauding the innovative effort and praising the Federal Government for the ICT sector’s progress.
They also voiced trust in NITDA’s ability to properly carry out its function through regulatory standards, guidelines, and policies, which they believe will be critical in pushing the country ahead digitally.
