Oriki Energy Launches Initiative to Empower Entrepreneurs in Solar Industry

Oriki Energy, a social impact startup based in Paris, France, has announced its commitment to supporting the federal government’s efforts to create job opportunities and stimulate economic activities at the grassroots level through a network of profitable solar stations across Nigeria.

The company revealed its plan to empower 100 entrepreneurs, comprising 50 men and 50 women, in the solar power business in Abeokuta, Ogun State, between May and August 2024. This initiative, in collaboration with the Olowu of Owu, Oba Prof. Saka Matemilola, aligns with the vision of Oriki Energy’s founder and CEO, Seni Oyekanmi, to empower one million entrepreneurs across Nigeria with solar power businesses by 2034.

Speaking at a press briefing held in Abeokuta at the palace of Olowu, the organization’s representative, Funmi Kogbe, emphasized that the empowerment program commenced on May 1 and will conclude on August 1. Kogbe highlighted Oriki Energy’s recognition of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial spirit and economic potential, aiming to innovate and create tangible impact by leveraging solar energy.

Through this initiative, Oriki Energy aims to enable entrepreneurs nationwide to unlock their potential, thrive in profitable businesses, and improve their lives, contributing to the socio-economic development of Nigeria.
