MAN Urges Manufacturers to Embrace Technology

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) is urging participants in the real sector to adopt emerging and disruptive technologies to maintain relevance. Francis Meshioye, the association’s President, emphasized this during a recent press conference introducing the Nigeria Raw Materials and Manufacturing Equipment Expo for the year.

Meshioye stated that in the ever-evolving landscape where disruptive technologies and trends, including blockchain, Internet of Things, machine learning, artificial intelligence, green energy, and augmented reality are set to shape the future, we must harness these innovations to foster self-sufficiency.

He stressed the importance of embracing locally sourced raw materials and availing oneself of critical support services such as financing and logistics. The theme for this year’s expo, according to Meshioye, is “Future Manufacturing: Building a Sustainable Roadmap to the Industrialization of Nigeria.”

He explained that the theme is pertinent in the current context, emphasizing the necessity for stakeholders to engage in comprehensive discussions on forward-thinking, environmentally responsible, and industry-supportive strategies in manufacturing.
