The National Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (NCAIR), in collaboration with Google, has unveiled a ₦100 million Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fund aimed at supporting Nigerian startups developing innovative AI-driven solutions. The fund, with applications open until September 25, offers financial backing, mentorship, and access to Google’s AI tools and resources.
The launch follows the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy’s release of the National AI Strategy, which outlines the nation’s vision for integrating AI into various sectors.

Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, highlighted the fund’s significance, stating, “The AI Fund is a critical step in nurturing homegrown innovation and driving Nigeria’s digital economy forward.”
The AI Fund is open to Nigerian-headquartered startups with at least one Nigerian founder, focused on AI solutions with potential for both local and global scalability.
