First Bank has opened its first completely automated branch.

The First Bank of Nigeria Limited has announced the opening of the FirstBank Digital Experience Centre, a completely automated branch.

‘FirstBank launches a completely automated self-service branch, strengthening digital transformation in Nigeria,’ the bank said in a statement.

The branch was developed, according to the financial institution, to provide consumers an edge in carrying out different tasks on their own without having to interact with anybody.

“The branch represents a reinvention of digital banking solutions in the nation, as consumers are exposed to a seamless world-class banking experience,” the company said in a statement.

The self-service branch, according to the bank, was designed with a variety of advanced contemporary banking capabilities, including humanoid robots with video banking and artificial intelligence.

Friendly branch staff, teller cash recyclers, self-service kiosks for non-financial transactions such as account updates, fast-track (contactless) ATMs, and interactive smart screen to ensure effective and comprehensive consultation with bank sales staff via remote video connection were all added to the branch’s services.

Other services, according to the statement, include paperless/electronic forms that encourage rapid complaint resolution, dispensing of account statements and account inquiry/management, money transfer, and dispensing of new ATM cards.

Fixed deposit booking between N100,000 and N5 million, card services and management, cheque management, email and phone number update, ATM card and token block are among the others, according to the report.

“With our digital experience center, we have reiterated our role in pioneering leading innovative technology-driven solutions that are central to enriching the experience of our customers in carrying out various transactions using state-of-the-art facilities with ease and convenience,” said Dr Adesola Adeduntan, FirstBank’s Chief Executive Officer.
