An 8-page in-house e-magazine and newsletter, ‘Cultural Renaissance,’ will debut on June 3rd. Published by the Ministry of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, under the supervision of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), a parastatal within the ministry, the publication will be released every fortnight.
A statement signed by Editor-in-Chief Otunba Biodun Ajiboye notes that the maiden edition coincides with the one-year anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, who is also the Executive Secretary and CEO of NICO, serves as the Editor-in-Chief, with Caleb Nor as Editor. The editorial team includes seasoned journalists such as Abimbola Tooki, Olusegun Oruame, Ade Majek Odunowo (Graphics), Ekundayo Asaju, Adedayo Sowemimo, and Ozolua Uhakheme as editorial advisers.

The publication aims to provide readers with insights into Nigeria’s diverse cultures through detailed reportage of events and activities in the sector.
The sector reasoned that, “we, in the culture sector, should write our narrative by ourselves at this time. We need to promote and present our culture to the world; we must have adequate reportage of the industry as robust as it is.”
“The culture and creative sector can now buttress its prime intent of redirecting the defective and mistaken orientational understanding of culture by the general public. This magazine is intended to be the voice for the culture sector, covering the totality of cultural news reports and information throughout the country,” added the Executive Secretary of NICO.
