CBN Denies Ongoing Recruitment, Cautions Against Misleading Information

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed reports suggesting that it is currently conducting a general recruitment exercise. This clarification follows the posting of a job vacancy on the Bank’s website on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, which led to widespread speculation.

In an official statement, the CBN stated unequivocally that it is not engaged in any general recruitment process at this time. The Bank explained that the job vacancy posted is specifically for the position of Director-General of the West African Monetary Agency (WAMA). This position is open only to eligible candidates from member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The CBN urged the public, especially potential applicants, to rely on information directly from the Bank’s official website (www.cbn.gov.ng) to avoid being misled by inaccurate reports.
