Airtel Nigeria Applauds Asake for Winning ‘Album of the Year’ Sponsored Award

Airtel Nigeria has extended its congratulations to afrobeats singer Asake for winning the ‘Album of the Year’ award at the 16th edition of The Headies, held in Atlanta, USA. The Chief Communications Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Femi Oshinlaja, praised Asake’s exceptional talent and noted that the ‘Album of the Year’ award, sponsored by Airtel Nigeria, was a highlight of the event.

Asake, who also received the Next Rated Award as the most promising new act of the year, secured the Album of the Year title with his debut album, ‘Mr Money with the Vibes.’ Airtel Nigeria emphasized that their ongoing support for The Headies was aimed at discovering and promoting outstanding talents like Asake while also contributing to the award organizers’ endeavors.

Femi Oshinlaja emphasized that, similar to other international creative awards, The Headies would rely on the support of organizations that share their vision to achieve its full potential. He highlighted that their support was a contribution towards helping The Headies establish itself as a prestigious award platform for the African continent.

Airtel Nigeria’s Head of Brands and Advertising, Omobolanle Osotule, echoed Femi Oshinlaja’s sentiments and commended the Headies organizers for a successful event. She recognized The Headies as Nigeria’s premier pop music awards and expressed optimism for future collaborations with the Awards.

The 16th Headies featured winners such as Rema, Odumodublvck, Diamond Platnumz, Blaqbonez, Labianca Fonji, Simi, Adekunle Gold, Spyro, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and others. Airtel had previously reaffirmed its commitment to supporting creative endeavors in Nigeria with the launch of its new brand theme, ‘A Reason to Imagine.’
