The Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, in partnership with the Lagos State Resident Registration Agency, is set to launch a comprehensive registration program for the youth population in the state. This initiative, announced by Commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende, aims to create a robust database of youths aged 18-35 years residing in Lagos.
Scheduled to commence on Monday, March 25, and conclude on Friday, March 29, 2024, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, the registration exercise will run daily from 8 am to 4 pm. Following the onsite registration, applicants will be directed to complete the process online.

Emphasizing the significance of this initiative, Permanent Secretary Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu highlighted that the establishment of a comprehensive youth database will enable the ministry to effectively plan and allocate resources for youth-oriented programs and initiatives. She emphasized that registration with the ministry will be a prerequisite for accessing various youth development opportunities.
Oke-Osanyintolu reiterated that the primary objective of the exercise is to ensure equitable resource allocation and tailored program implementation to support the aspirations of Lagos State’s youth population, both formal and informal. By capturing essential data through this registration drive, the ministry aims to foster an environment conducive to realizing the potential and dreams of the youth through targeted policies and programs.
