NCC Announces Resolution of Interconnect Debt Dispute Between Glo and MTN

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the amicable resolution of the interconnect debt dispute between MTN Nigeria Communications Plc. (MTN) and Globacom Limited (Globacom).

Following the resolution, the disconnection approval granted to MTN for Globacom has been withdrawn, ensuring continuity of services for subscribers.

The NCC facilitated the reconciliation process between the parties, emphasizing the importance of adherence to license terms and interconnection agreements for all mobile network operators (MNOs) and licensees in the telecom industry.

To prevent future instances of interconnect indebtedness, the NCC will request records and regular updates from MNOs and adopt a transparent approach toward industry indebtedness.
