Phase3 Telecom has announced a strategic partnership with Laser Light Africa, a subsidiary of Laser Light Companies, to deliver an advanced Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solution along the key Lagos–Accra corridor. This development marks a major step in accelerating West Africa’s digital transformation.
The 600km terrestrial fibre corridor, connecting Lagos in Nigeria to Accra in Ghana, will now host cutting-edge compute and storage infrastructure branded Fiber Meets AI. This initiative is expected to support scalable, low-latency cloud services for hyperscalers, communication service providers (CSPs), and enterprises in one of Africa’s fastest urbanizing regions.

Craig Lowe, Chief Growth Officer of Phase3, emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “We are enabling high-performance cloud services closer to end users through our aerial fibre infrastructure and micro data centers, improving latency, security, and AI-readiness across the region.”
Laser Light Africa will complement the terrestrial deployment with space-based redundancy using its upcoming all-optical satellite constellation. This will significantly enhance network resilience and digital reach across ECOWAS nations.
Derek Friend, President of the SADC Region at Laser Light Africa, praised Phase3’s deployment model, which leverages high-voltage transmission lines, as a testament to the partners’ shared vision of cost-effective and wide-reaching digital infrastructure.
Service rollout is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026, reinforcing Phase3’s commitment to enabling inclusive digital growth for communities, governments, and businesses across the continent.
