Tech Leaders Recognized for Innovation Celebration at CIO Awards Africa 2023

Acknowledging the strides made in innovation, the Chief Information Officer Awards 2023 honored tech pioneers from various sectors in Nigeria and Africa.

During the ceremony in Lagos, notable figures, including Mr. Mitchell Elegbe, the Founder of Interswitch, received the lifetime achievement award alongside other distinguished leaders. This year, the awards expanded their reach to Ghana, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa, and Senegal, marking a significant milestone in its fourth edition.

Abiola Laseinde, the convener of the CIO Awards Africa, emphasized the event’s commitment to honoring exceptional tech leaders and innovators across the continent. Highlighting the expansion beyond Nigeria’s borders, Laseinde expressed the ceremony’s essence as more than a mere awards show. It symbolized a tribute to Africa’s relentless spirit of innovation, collaboration, and progress, driving technological advancement and economic growth.

The event also crowned Mr. Idris Musa, the General Manager of Information Technology and Assets Integrity at Oando Group, as the overall winner of the 2023 CIO Awards, adding another dimension to the celebration of innovation in the tech landscape.
