The Nigerian Senate, through its Joint Committee on Communications, has given its approval to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) for its budget projection of N549.6 billion for the year 2024.

This decision followed a comprehensive defense of the budget by the Commission’s management, led by its Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Dr. Aminu Maida. Committee members engaged in thorough discussions and posed pertinent questions to the Commission regarding the budget proposal.

After satisfying their inquiries, the Committee members proceeded to approve the budget through voice votes. Senator Tahir Monguno (Borno North) moved the motion for approval, which was subsequently ratified by the Committee’s Chairman, Senator Ikra Aliyu (Zamfara Central).
