The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has received a significant boost in its security infrastructure with the donation of three drones and 100 advanced self-configured walkie-talkies from international partners. Equipping the Needy Initiative (ETNI) and its collaborators made this donation to support the NSCDC’s efforts in combating insecurity and ensuring the safety of lives and critical national assets.
Afolabi Babawale, the NSCDC spokesperson, highlighted the importance of this donation as part of the strategy to enhance national security through proper surveillance and protection of citizens and infrastructure. The equipment, including drones and walkie-talkies, is expected to play a vital role in surveillance activities and securing critical assets across Nigeria.

Commandant General Ahmed Audi expressed appreciation for the donation, emphasizing the commitment of the NSCDC to utilize the gadgets effectively for security purposes. Audi assured that the communication center promised by the ETNI would serve as a command and control center, enhancing the coordination of national operations, especially in liberated areas and IDP camps.
Benedict Aliku, CEO of ETNI, accompanied by security experts and consultants from the United States, affirmed their commitment to supporting adequate security measures through this donation. Aliku highlighted additional initiatives, such as IDP shelter projects in five states—Kaduna, Benue, Kogi, and Nasarawa—managed by the NSCDC, further emphasizing the collaborative approach to address security challenges.
