The Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) has recorded a remarkable 275% increase in revenue for 2024, according to Postmaster General Tola Odeyemi.
Speaking on the agency’s achievements, Odeyemi highlighted that this growth was driven by strategic reforms focused on improving service quality and plugging revenue leakages. Among the key initiatives was the deployment of Point of Sale (PoS) terminals in high-transaction areas, streamlining payment processes and enhancing customer experience.
“One of the major achievements for us in 2024 has been a 275% increase in revenue from 2023. We achieved this by deploying PoS terminals in high-transaction areas and raising the quality of our services,” she explained.

While specific revenue figures were not disclosed, NIPOST had set an ambitious target of N10 billion for 2024, signaling a strong recovery after years of declining performance.
Looking ahead to 2025, Odeyemi outlined plans to sustain the upward trajectory, including:
• Renovations and upgrades of key facilities in Abuja, Lagos, and Kaduna.
• Development of a national addressing system and digital postcode services.
• Expansion of specialised logistics for agriculture and healthcare.
• Relaunch of financial services at NIPOST locations.
Additionally, the Postal Institute will undergo enhancements to support NIPOST’s change management initiatives, and infrastructure upgrades are planned across the Federation to improve access to government services.
The Postmaster General expressed optimism about the future, noting that these measures would position NIPOST as a critical driver of economic growth and service delivery in Nigeria.
