Dr. Olatunji commended Upper Link, a Data Protection Compliance Organisation, for organising the workshop, which aligns with the Commission’s goals of awareness creation, capacity building, and compliance at the state level. He also praised the Ogun State Government’s efforts in deploying digital technology for effective service delivery, emphasizing the critical importance of data protection and privacy.
He underscored that all public sector organizations are data controllers and processors, which necessitates the implementation of requisite measures to safeguard personal data to ensure trust and confidence in their data processing activities. Dr. Olatunji also highlighted the National Certification process aimed at domesticating data protection professional certification.
