The Nigeria Computer Society[NCS] the leading and number one IT professional association in Nigeria and African largest IT Society is set to confer fellowship on 55 worthy Nigerians at the 2022 edition of the Nigeria Information Technology Merit Award [NITMA].
NITMA is a flagship event organized by NCS in recognition of outstanding Nigerians in the Information Technology (IT) industry, would hold on November 24th at the Muson Centre, Onikan- Lagos.
The President of NCS, Professor Adesina Sodiya, unveils this to Digivation network alongside other press members at a press conference in Lagos that the Governor of Lagos, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu would be the chairman at the 2022 NITMA edition.
At the press conference, Prof Sodiya says that 50 professional fellowships would be conferred to members of NCS who have distinguished themselves in the industry to become fellows. In contrast, 5 honorary fellowship members would be drawn from various sectors of the economy of individuals who have positive contributions to the country.
According to him, the 5 honorary members are the chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Mr, Muhammed Nami; the Governor of Ogun State, Mr. Dapo Abiodun; the Executive Vice Chairman, of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Engr. Prof. M.M.S Haruna; the Managing Director of Alpha Beta, and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Sunday Thomas.
In addition, there would be recognition for the Digital Governor of the Year awards for governors who have made enormous investments in Information Technology. Those nominated are the Lagos State governor, Sanwo-Olu, and his counterparts from Rivers, Enugu and Kaduna.
Other awards are the IT Personality of the year awards, the Presidential IT Merit Award, IT Company of the year, and the Youth Innovative Award among others
Meanwhile, the Local Organising Committee chairperson for 2022 NITMA and chairperson of Publicity at NCC, Mrs. Margaret John David discloses the introduction of the NITMA Queen, which will promote and enhance NITMA awards and accelerate the activities of the NCS.
