NCS Conference Committee Concludes Successful Tenure with Remarkable Achievements


‎The outgoing NCS Conference Committee chaired by Prof. Saidat Adebukola ONASHOGA has concluded its tenure on a high note, marking a series of remarkable achievements that have set a new standard for future conferences. During its tenure, the committee successfully organized two major conferences, SmartEco 2024 and ConNovate 2025, which brought together experts, professionals, and researchers to share insights and innovative ideas in their respective fields.

‎The committee’s achievements as chronicled in the handover note include:
‎- Successful Conference Organization: SmartEco 2024 and ConNovate 2025
‎- Pre-Conference Workshop: Encouraging industry participation and capacity building
‎- Doctoral Consortium: Providing mentorship and support for PhD students and supervisors
‎- Process Innovations: Automating receipt generation, redesigning the conference website, and introducing a seamless registration process
‎- Efficient Event Management: Strategies for smooth food and entertainment services, and strategic recruitment of AdHoc staff, ushers, and volunteers.
‎- Largest participation and remarkable economic value generated in the history of Nigeria Computer Society

‎In a ceremony held on September 4, 2025, Prof. Saidat Adebukola Onashoga handed over to Mr. Bayo Muhammad Onimode as the new Chairman of the Conferences Committee, who will serve a two-year tenure from 2025 to 2027. Prof. Onashoga’s leadership and vision played a significant role in the committee’s success, and her legacy is expected to continue through the new chairman.

‎The tenure of Prof. Saidat Adebukola Onashoga’s leadership has left an indelible mark on the NCS Conference Committee. The legacy of her leadership style and mentorship has also borne fruit, with four committee members rising to join the new NEC: Dr. Vivian Nwaocha FNCS, Dr. Yinka Oyerinde, Dr. Muhammad Aliyu, and Engr. Chidiebere. This is a testament to the impact of her leadership and the committee’s commitment to nurturing talent and building capacity.

‎The outgoing committee is confident that its legacy will continue to inspire and motivate future committees to strive for excellence. We wish Mr. Onimode and the new committee all the best in their future endeavors.
