Dr. Reuben Muoka, the Director of Public Affairs at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has been recognized with the esteemed NIPR ‘Distinguished Spokesperson in Technology Award’. This latest accolade adds to his impressive list of achievements and underscores his significant contributions to the field.

The award ceremony, hosted by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at its annual National Spokesperson Summit themed “Change Narratives, Change Society”, celebrated journalists and public relations professionals who have excelled as spokespersons in their respective fields.

Dr. Muoka’s illustrious career in journalism and public relations is highlighted by numerous accolades and accomplishments. He received a fellowship from the Egyptian Embassy in Nigeria in 1999, leading to a Pan-African training and tour of Egypt, where he was awarded a continental Diploma Certificate in Journalism by the Egyptian Ministry of Information and the African Journalists Union (AJU) in Cairo.

In 2021, Dr. Muoka was appointed to head the Special Duties Department at the NCC, overseeing key units such as International Relations, Emergency Communication Centers, Public Private Partnership, and Security Services. His exemplary leadership led to his promotion to Director of the Department before his current role as Director of Public Affairs, where he manages the image and visibility of Nigeria’s telecom regulator.

Dr. Muoka’s expertise spans traditional journalism, public relations, integrated marketing communications (IMC), corporate communication, and people management. He is a member of esteemed professional bodies such as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and an associate member of the Registered Practitioners of Advertising (ARPA) regulated by the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).

With his rich and versatile experience, Dr. Reuben Muoka continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the NCC’s mission to enhance public goodwill and elevate its reputational assets within the telecommunications industry.
