NCC Initiates Wireless Internet Cloud Installation in Nasarawa State

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has begun the deployment of a Wireless Internet Cloud infrastructure at the Nasararwa State College of Education Akwanga, in line with the state’s Right of Way Regulation 2023.

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, recently inspected the ongoing installation, emphasizing the significance of the state’s Right of Way (RoW) Regulation 2023 in fostering a robust digital economy.

The project entails the installation of a 10km fiber network, a network operating centre, and a dedicated power bank equipped with a 10kva hybrid online inverter. Additionally, it includes the provision of 240 Mbps of free internet service and one free line internet bandwidth.

The RoW Regulation 2023 exempts telecommunications network facilities from RoW charges in Nasarawa State, demonstrating the state government’s commitment to facilitating broadband infrastructure deployment and enhancing digital connectivity.

Governor Sule highlighted the importance of the initiative in driving socioeconomic development and fostering digital inclusion across Nasarawa State. This strategic partnership between the NCC and the state government signifies a step towards bridging the digital divide and advancing technological innovation in the region.
