Nassarawa State Introduces Groundbreaking Right of Way Regulation for Telecommunications

Nassarawa State has implemented the Right of Way Regulation 2023, effective since December 29, 2023, which exempts telecommunication network facilities from Right of Way (RoW) Charges. This move is hailed as a significant stride towards fostering an environment conducive to the flourishing digital economy.

This bold regulation not only supports the objectives set by the @FMCIDENigeria but also amplifies the pursuit of achieving 75% of the country’s fiber optic cable target outlined in the National Broadband Plan by the end of 2027.

As the @NgComCommission continues its efforts to advocate the advantages of fostering favorable conditions for telecom investments—such as enhanced connectivity, economic upsurge, and better digital services—by exempting RoW charges, it is anticipated that other states will follow suit, facilitating a smoother path for these advancements.
