NADDC Urges Incorporation of Advanced Technology in Auto Mechatronics Training Standards

The Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Joseph Osanipin, has advised the Auto Sector Skills Council to integrate advanced technology into the development of operational standards for auto mechatronics training in the country. This directive was issued during the recent Sector Skills Council Awareness/Sensitisation Workshop for the Northern Zone, jointly organized by NADDC and SSC in Abuja.

Osanipin stressed the importance of aligning with current technological advancements in the automotive sector. He urged participants and industry stakeholders to enhance their skills by utilizing the training curriculum and facilities provided by the council.

Emphasizing the transformative nature of the auto industry in recent decades, Osanipin highlighted the crucial role of training. He stated that the way the auto industry worked 30, 40 years ago is no longer the way it works today, and the key element is training. The council realized this and partnered with SSC to identify gaps, with a particular focus on addressing challenges in electrical and electronics.

The President of the Automotive Sector Skill Council, Francis Udeh, expressed satisfaction with the workshop, acknowledging its significance in creating awareness among members about the current administration’s commitment to revolutionize the automotive sector.
