MTN Nigeria CEO, Karl Toriola, has issued a stark warning about the state of Nigeria’s telecom sector, describing it as being on life support.

Speaking at a telecom investment forum on Tuesday, Toriola compared the industry to a patient in intensive care, emphasizing the urgent need for intervention to prevent its collapse.

Toriola’s grim outlook contrasts sharply with the more optimistic perspective offered by Airtel Nigeria CEO, Carl Cruz. He highlighted the necessity of raising prices for telecom services due to rising operational costs, signaling growing concerns about the sector’s sustainability.
