MICROSOFT IN TALKS TO BUY TIKTOK- PRESIDENT TRUMP

United States President, Donald Trump has announced that Microsoft is in talks to acquire TikTok’s US operations.

This development comes after Trump pressured the social network to shed its Chinese ownership or face a ban based on national security grounds.

Trump mentioned that “there’s great interest in TikTok” and that “a lot of people” are bidding on it.

When asked earlier if Microsoft was in talks to acquire the popular video-sharing app, Trump said:

“I would say yes. I like bidding wars because you make your best deals,”

Microsoft was previously interested in acquiring TikTok in 2020, along with Oracle. However, it seems that Microsoft is now leading the charge. Other interested parties include Perplexity AI, Frank McCourt, Elon Musk and Larry Ellison

It’s worth noting that Trump signed an executive order last week to delay the TikTok ban deadline by 75 days and told the Department of Justice not to enforce the ban’s penalties.

However, while the app is back online, it’s still missing from app stores.
