INTELS Nigeria Graduates 85 Women in Empowerment Project, Donates Garments to Persons with Disabilities

INTELS Nigeria Ltd., a major oil and gas logistics company, marked another milestone as it graduated 85 beneficiaries from its Women Empowerment Project Scheme Synergy (WEPSS). The ceremony, held on Friday, celebrated women trained in tailoring and fashion design from INTELS’ host communities in Onne, Ogu, and other parts of Rivers State and the Niger Delta region.

As part of its commitment to social responsibility, INTELS also donated 1,000 garments to the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD).

Established in 2013, WEPSS aims to empower 5,000 community women over a 20-year period through training in fashion design and tailoring. The program, which trains and empowers women in two batches annually, has so far benefited over 1,800 women.

The ceremony featured the presentation of starter kits and a N2 million prize to Hannah Brown, recognized as the Best Graduating Student of the Class of 2023 Batch B. Additionally, the Class of 2023 Batch A best-graduating student, Dorbobari Dick, received keys to a fully furnished and equipped shop to support her fashion design venture.
