Halilu Takes Over Leadership at NASENI, Replacing Gwandu

President Bola Tinubu has given his endorsement for Khalil Suleiman Halilu to assume the role of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) as its new Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Halilu took over the position of EVC/CEO of NASENI, replacing Dr. Bashiru Gwandu, who had been appointed by the former President, General Mohammed Buhari, retired, on May 12, 2023.

Announcing this update, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President for Media & Publicity, conveyed in a press release on September 1, 2023, that Khalil Suleiman Halilu would commence a five-year term as per the applicable provisions of the NASENI Act, 2014.

He also mentioned that, at the age of 32, Mr. Halilu is anticipated to leverage his substantial experience as an innovator and technology expert in this crucial new national role.

He announced that Dr. Bashir Gwandu’s role as EVC/CEO of NASENI has been officially ended, emphasizing that in accordance with the President’s directive, Halilu’s appointment is effective immediately.
