Grace High School’s Valedictory Service Shines with Rise Up and Sparkle Initiative.

Grace High School Gbagada, Lagos, recently hosted its Valedictory Service, where the Rise Up and Sparkle Initiative presented its prestigious STEM Trailblazers Awards. Founder Mrs. Funmilola Victoria Omojola, alongside Mrs. Ebele Amaefule, celebrated the exceptional achievements of young female pioneers in STEM fields.

The Rise Up and Sparkle Initiative empowers young girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) fields and women in the digital space. Through programs and awards, it promotes gender equality, fosters leadership, and encourages excellence, aiming to bridge the gender gap and create a more inclusive future in technology and innovation.

The *STEM Trailblazers Awards* recognize and celebrate the pioneering spirit of young girls excelling in STEM, encouraging continued innovation and scientific discovery. This pilot project, launched in Lagos State, honors the best overall female SS3 students in STEM subjects. The objectives are:
Inspire Excellence: Encourage girls to pursue and excel in STEM.
Recognize Achievement: Reward outstanding female students.
Promote Equality: Support gender equality and inclusivity in STEM.

Grace High School was chosen as one of the pilot schools for this initiative. The event honored top female students in Computer Science, Sciences, and the overall best female student of the graduating class. Each recipient received cash prizes and gift items.

“This pilot project in Lagos State marks the start of a transformative journey,” said Mrs. Funmilola Victoria Omojola. “With continued support, we aim to expand this program and inspire more young girls to reach for the stars in STEM.”
