FORMER FIRST BANK CEO LAUNCHES NEW FINANCIAL SERVICES

The former CEO of FirstBank, Adesola Adeduntan, has launched a new financial services firm called Sequoia Financial Services Limited.

This was revealed by Adeduntan on LinkedIn where he shared his excitement stating,

“I am happy to share that I am starting a new role as President and Founder of Sequoia Financial Services Limited.”

This move comes after Adeduntan’s abrupt exit from FirstBank in April 2024, despite initially committing to remain in his role until December 31st of the same year.

Adeduntan brings a wealth of experience to his new venture, having led FirstBank for nearly a decade where he played a crucial role in shaping the bank’s strategy and driving its growth, during his tenure.

Prior to his role as CEO, Adeduntan served as the Executive Director and CFO of FirstBank, and has also held senior positions at Citibank Nigeria, KPMG Professional Services, and Arthur Andersen Nigeria.

Sequoia Financial Services according to him is expected to specialize in financial advisory, investment management, and strategic consulting services, targeting businesses and high-net-worth individuals.

The firm is anticipated to leverage Adeduntan’s expertise in banking and corporate finance to provide tailored financial solutions to its clients.

Adeduntan’s experience and network are expected to serve as a strong foundation for the new firm as he transitions from a traditional banking role to an entrepreneurial venture in Nigeria’s financial services sector.
