For the fiscal year 2022, the NCC aims to generate N632 billion in income.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) announced a revenue target of N632.39 billion for the fiscal year 2022.

Prof. Umar Danbatta, the NCC’s Executive Vice Chairman, stated this during the budget defense before the Joint Committee on Communications of the National Assembly in Abuja.

The revenue objectives, according to Danbatta, will also include earnings from the 5G spectrum sale.

“Each slot of the 5G spectrum is going for an exact amount of N75 billion,” he says. It could, however, reach N100 billion in an auction.

“The actual price for the Spectrum auction in 2022 will provide the Federal Government N300 billion; when predicted revenue is included in, we’re expecting far over N600 billion because it’s an auction.”

“In 2022, our sales will exceed that of 2021. The commission’s primary budget proposes recurrent expenditures of N86.2 billion, capital expenditures of N29.36 billion, and special projects of N2.55 billion.”

Concerns regarding 5G have been raised by the NCC, which has been educating Nigerians about the new technology’s safety.

“Until now, there has been no solid proof of the 5G technology posing a health risk,” he stated.
