The Federal Government (FG) has announced Monday, September 16, 2024, as a public holiday in honor of Eid-ul-Mawlid, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, made the declaration on behalf of the government, extending congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and abroad.
The Minister urged Muslims and all Nigerians to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience during this period. He also called on citizens to pray for lasting peace and prosperity in the nation.
