The Federal Government has revealed its plans to introduce a comprehensive programme aimed at fostering gender equality and empowering women nationwide. Dubbed the “Gender Education, Engagement, Empowerment, and Entrepreneurship Programme” (GEEEEP), this initiative targets the multifaceted challenges faced by women and girls in Nigeria.
According to Sunday Asefon, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Student Engagement, GEEEEP is designed to address key pillars including education, engagement, empowerment, and entrepreneurship, offering holistic support and opportunities for the advancement of women.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to promoting gender equality, Asefon emphasized that GEEEEP will provide tailored initiatives to meet the specific needs of women and girls. Asefon further stated that GEEEEP represents a significant milestone in efforts to uplift and empower women and girls, aiming to unlock their full potential as drivers of social and economic development. The Federal Government, he revealed, is taking decisive steps towards building a more equitable and inclusive future for all through this groundbreaking initiative.
