Dr. Bayero Agabi Launches New Book ‘The Nigeria Digital Heroes’

Dr. Bayero Agabi, the President, DigiVation Networks, has presented his new book to the public.

The 304-page book titled: ‘The Nigeria Digital Heroes’, which was unveiled at the Lagos Future Conference 2025, attracted praises from eminent Nigerians present at the event.

The book encapsulates the depth of Nigeria’s information communications and technology, and digital facets as it traverses the economic, political, cultural and social interplay in a manner that it transformed the nation from the backwaters to backwardness to a global force in digital ecosphere.

The book divided into 21 chapters focuses on the important aspects of the issues, challenges, policies, institutions, processes, practices, technology changes and human interfaces that lifted Nigeria from a non-contender to the position of an assertive participant in the global digital revolution.

The author, Dr. Bayero Agabi, FNCS, FIIM, FIMC, MNIPR, is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s digital landscape, contributing his expertise to several critical national initiatives. He serves as a member of the Presidential Committee on Data Harmonisation, the National Broadband Council under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovations and Digital Economy, and the Senate Cybersecurity Expert Advisory Group. Agabi is also Vice-President of the Nigeria Internet Group (NIG) and President of the Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development (CECAD), a pan-African organisation dedicated to advocating the digital economy.

A pioneer in technology broadcasting in Nigeria for over two decades, Dr. Agabi has earned 112 local and international awards for his contributions to the development of the industry. He remains the only African recipient of the prestigious UNECA/AISI Award for ICT4D reporting and analysis on the continent.

Agabi’s academic journey includes studies at the Pan-Atlantic University (PAU), in Lagos, University of Jos (UNIJOS), Lagos State University (LASU), and the Commonwealth University, in Belize.

His qualifications include a degree in Mass Communications, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration, a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA), and a Doctorate in Public Policy. He also holds certifications in Business and Enterprise Management, Telecommunications, Computer Science and Public Relations. In recognition of his professional achievements, Dr. Agabi is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), a Fellow of the Institute of Information Management (FIIM), and Chartered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and member of the Institute of Data Processing Management (IDPM). Agabi is the Founder of DigiVation Network, and manages several other business ventures.

In his personal time, he enjoys reading, staying informed through news, and traveling. His enduring contributions to ICTs, especially as they relate to Africa’s development, continue to make a significant impact both locally and internationally.
