Digital Realty, a global leader in data center and interconnection solutions, has announced the expansion of its interconnection platform, ServiceFabric, into Nigeria. The platform will be deployed natively at the company’s LOS1 and LOS2 facilities in Lagos, providing Nigerian enterprises with low-latency, high-performance connectivity and access to global cloud and network partners.
This move reinforces Digital Realty’s commitment to supporting digital transformation across Africa by enabling seamless, secure, and scalable interconnection. The introduction of ServiceFabric in Nigeria will empower businesses with hybrid IT and multi-cloud capabilities, essential for digital growth and competitiveness in an increasingly connected world.
Chris Sharp, Chief Technology Officer at Digital Realty, described the development as a major milestone. “By deploying ServiceFabric natively in our Lagos facilities, we are ensuring businesses in Nigeria have access to the same world-class interconnection capabilities as enterprises in global digital hubs,” he said.
Engineer Ikechukwu Nnamani, Managing Director of Digital Realty Nigeria, noted that the expansion supports government initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s ICT ecosystem. “This deployment aligns with the Federal Government’s call for global digital infrastructure in Nigeria. It will enhance localization of content and elevate service quality by enabling direct interconnectivity with the Internet Exchange Point of Nigeria (IXPN),” he stated.

The deployment comes at a critical time, as digital activity and demand for advanced connectivity are surging across Africa. The continent’s digital transformation market is projected to grow from USD 23 billion in 2024 to USD 46 billion by 2029. In Nigeria, national programs like the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) and Broadband Alliance reflect strong governmental support for digital infrastructure and skills development.
ServiceFabric offers seamless, software-defined interconnection across more than 160 Digital Realty facilities and 500+ third-party locations globally. It provides secure, on-demand multi-cloud access, scalable infrastructure, and improved network resilience—critical for organizations aiming to future-proof operations and integrate AI workloads through Digital Realty’s Private AI Exchange (AIPx).
With the Nigerian rollout, ServiceFabric brings global reach and local performance to the country’s business ecosystem, positioning Nigeria as a key hub in Africa’s digital economy.
