June every year in the United States of America is such a significant month that commemorates freedom for the Black race or African Americans. It celebrates the end of slavery after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863. The month symbolizes Black people’s resilience, perseverance, and the ongoing struggle for equality.
Seemingly in the light of this, US- based media outfit Afrocentrik TV and Magazine in a sense of solidarity, used the historical moment to honour the brilliance and industry of a few African Diaspora at the prestigious Afrocentrik Awards for Excellence in Diaspora 2025 for the Thirty Most Influential Tech Leaders of the Year 2025. The event was a moment of pomp and pageantry at the GSH Event Centre, West Belfort, Houston, Texas, in the United States of America.
The Vice President, Afrocentrik TV/Magazine, Kolawole Akinmuyiwa, says the organisation is committed to celebrating the enormous contributions of the African community to the United States of America. “We believe the impact of the Black race and the role of Africans strategically to socio-economic growth of America is grossly under-recognized and or misrepresented through wrong narratives. The atmosphere was grandiose, the setting ecstatic with a select list of thirty honorees and influential tech and business leaders across different sectors of corporate America. Oyo State born Sunday Oladosu stood tall as he emerged one of the stars of the show. He was conferred with the honour of a Tech thought-leader, visionary ICT mentor as a highly sought-after after cybersecurity expert.
In his citation at the event, Oladosu was praised for his professionalism and commitment to IT mentorship, training, and world-class innovative cybersecurity solutions. After a career spanning over two decades of professionalism and excellence in the field of network engineering, cyber security and information communications technology in key sectors within Africa and the United States of America, Sunday Oladosu, a Senior Network Engineer with Infosys Incorporated, Houston Texas, was deservedly recognized for his efforts and impact. Besides his career path, what truly sets Sunday Oladosu apart is his unwavering dedication to mentoring and developing the next generation of software Engineers and IT professionals. Throughout his career, he has actively engaged in training and educational initiatives, often partnering with universities and technical institutions to provide aspiring engineers with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in today’s fast-paced tech environment.

The prestigious recognition as one of the Thirty Most Influential Tech Leaders of the Year 2025 by Afrocentrik Magazine/Television, in Houston, Texas United States of America, comes as a testament to an illustrious career, underscoring Oladosu’s unwavering commitment to advancing the Network Engineering and ICT fields while fostering innovation. From his years of work with one of the biggest telecommunications company Globacom in Nigeria, to his exploits in the USA, his remarkable achievements in transforming global networking solutions and strategic role in shaping the future of digital infrastructure, Sunday Oladosu continues to attract far-reaching recognition and influence.
Most recently, Oladosu led a team of consultants to successfully overhaul the Houston Methodist Hospital IT network solution. Despite the critical nature of the project, his team successfully audited and migrated the network infrastructure of the institution to a more efficient solution that will enhance service delivery and avoid possible network down time in the next 10 years.
In his response, Oladosu expressed his delight, “I’m humbled by this special recognition and highly revered awards. It is one thing to be nominated and another thing to be on the podium as a winner.
