In recognition of the remarkable success and the efforts of the National Identity Management Commission, (NIMC) led by the Director General Engr. Aliyu Aziz towards helping Nigeria attain global best practice in seamless digital identity system, DigiVation Network Television has honoured the DG as a recipient of this year’s Special DigiVation Icons Recognition.
At a brief presentation occasion in Abuja at the Commission’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, the honours shield was presented to Engr Aliyu Aziz at is office by the DigiVation Network Team led by Bayero Agabi. Responding, the soft-spoken DG expressed delight with the honour. “Am most excited by this special recognition especially by such a seasoned media outfit that understands the industry very well, its really a further testament to the efforts we have put in especially under the able leadership of the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami and the entire staff of the Commission, together we have been able to grow the number of registrants captured in the National Identity Number (NIN) data base from less thank fifteen million when we assumed office to about fifty million now. What a honour like this does to us is to challenge us the more to ensure we meet the expectations of Nigerians and the objective of the Federal government under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
Speaking further, the DG thanked the top-rate DigiVation Network team for what he described as a leading professional IT media organisation with such span of experience which has kept it going over the past twenty years.

Aliyu Aziz with his innovative approach and open door systems which endears him to advise and suggestions. “In the past year where Covid-19 has dealt a huge blow to the operations and success of many organisations and institutions, its is most commendable that NIMC under your leadership has been one of the shining lights of the Nigeria public sector service delivery agencies. Bayero added that “of all the votes received from viewers of DigiVation Network weekly programme on AIT, the NIMC DG received overwhelming votes for what many described as defiling the odds to achieve success”.
