Damage on Multiple Submarine Fibre Optic Cables Along West Africa Coast

The Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has announced that some subscribers of the network will be experiencing challenges accessing data services as well as low Internet speed as a result of multiple damage to the international undersea cable across east and west africa coastline.

In a statement signed and released today by the chairman Executive secretary of the Association, Engnr. Gbenga Awonuga stated that the development has impacted on data and Internet service delivery to some of its members.

They’ve assured it’s members that repairs are currently on going and will be resolved within the shortest time possible.

They further offered their apologies for all inconveniences arising from the impact of the damage and resulting outage.
