CyberAfrica, a Pan-African Information and Communications Technology magazine, has established a ‘Pan-African Digital Economy Award’ to honor digital innovations across all sectors of the continent as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.
Mr. Hillary Damisah, the Managing Editor of CyberAfrica magazine, television, and online, said in a statement in Abuja that the novel award, which will be held on December 19, 2021 at the prestigious Oriental hotel Lekki in Lagos, will have categories covering the entire Information and Communications Technology ecosystem.
“While we want to celebrate the tenth anniversary of CyberAfrica Magazine, we also want to recognize the massive digital change that has occurred across Africa, with digital technologies driving nearly every area of the economy,” he stated.
According to him, the purpose of the ‘Pan-African Digital Award’ is to recognize and celebrate Africa’s and Africans’ digital revolution. Cyber security, eGovernance, startups, innovation, policy, infrastructure, finance, and administration are among the prize categories. According to him, the award will honor the greatest individuals and organizations that are improving Africa.
The Centre for Cyber Awareness and Development (CECAD), a non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting cyber responsibility via advocacy, training, and innovation, publishes the CyberAfrica Magazine. Cyber Africa is AFRICA’s first magazine to focus on cyber concerns a decade ago, according to Cecad executive director Mojisola Alabi, and the event is a two-in-one presentation. First, there was the Cyber Africa Forum, which focused on creating a new Africa via digital knowledge, skills, and innovation. The forum, according to Moji, would cover infrastructure, security, policy, and governance. In addition, the CyberAfrica digital economy award has been given.
