Customs CG, Adeniyi, Receives Presidential Award for High Revenue Collection

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, presented the award for High Revenue Collection to the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, at a ceremony held in the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on July 6.

The accolade, part of the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS), recognizes Adeniyi’s significant achievements in revenue generation since his appointment as Comptroller-General of Customs in June 2023. The award was conferred by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Vice President Shettima.

In his remarks, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of embedding a culture of recognition and reward within the public service. “Public institutions are not personal enterprises, and public servants are employees of the Nigerian people,” he stated.

CGC Adeniyi expressed his gratitude for the recognition, thanking God, President Tinubu, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), and NEAPS. He affirmed his commitment to advancing Nigeria’s economy through diligent revenue collection and trade facilitation, viewing the award as a motivation to enhance the Customs Service’s efforts.
