Arco Worldwide Services Rallies Support for Drone Innovation and Youth Empowerment at Lagos Future Conference

At the Lagos Future Conference 2025 held at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, Arco Worldwide Services Limited made a powerful case for Nigeria’s youth and its future in drone technology.

Engr. Mozimo Okosubide, CEO of Arco Worldwide Services Limited represented by David Ofoluwa, senior business development executive of the company, delivered an inspiring speech that underscored the importance of investing in youth-driven innovation and positioning Nigeria at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

“Our youth are our greatest national asset—more valuable than oil or minerals,” Okosubide said, speaking to a diverse audience of tech leaders, policymakers, students, and innovators. “But youth are only a resource when they are equipped, empowered, and engaged. When we equip young people with the right tools and knowledge, they don’t just succeed—they transform nations.”

The company’s flagship initiative, the Arco Aviation Academy, was unveiled as the centerpiece of its contribution to national development.

Positioned as Nigeria’s first and only Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)-approved drone training academy, the academy aims to empower a new generation of drone pilots, engineers, and entrepreneurs with the skills needed to drive real-world innovation in agriculture, oil and gas, logistics, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure.

“The drone industry is projected to surpass $90 billion globally by 2030,” Okosubide noted. “This is not science fiction. It’s happening now, and Nigeria must be a part of it.”

Arco Worldwide Services, a fully indigenous company headquartered in Lagos, is one of Nigeria’s pioneering firms licensed for commercial drone operations by the NCAA and the Office of the National Security Adviser. With over 80% of its workforce comprised of young Nigerian talent, the company is deeply committed to local content development, innovation, and digital capacity-building.

In addition to its technical training, the Arco Aviation Academy will integrate cutting-edge learning modules in flight simulation, virtual reality, airspace management, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurial development.

According to Okosubide, “This isn’t just about flying drones—it’s about building careers, solving real-world problems, and creating scalable tech solutions.”

He emphasized the Academy’s strong push for inclusion, particularly the role of young women in the sector. “We envision a Nigeria where female UAV pilots, engineers, and drone tech entrepreneurs are not the exception—but the norm.”

In a strong call to action, he urged government leaders, the private sector, and international development agencies to support drone education and infrastructure in Nigeria.

“Include drone technology in national development planning, sponsor training programs, fund innovation labs, and help us make Nigeria the regional hub for drone technology in Africa,” he implored.

To the youth in attendance, his message was both motivational and practical: “The sky is no longer the limit—it is the launchpad. Innovate. Build. Lead. The future belongs to you.”

As Nigeria continues to chart its path in the digital economy, Arco Worldwide Services’ bold investment in drone technology and youth training is positioning the nation to take flight—literally and figuratively—into a new era of economic growth, technological relevance, and global leadership.
