Today, the Federal Ministry of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy initiated the Nigeria Artificial Intelligence Research Scheme, providing funding for 45 groups of startups and researchers. This initiative aims to encourage further exploration in the AI domain, fostering the growth of a sustainable AI ecosystem within Nigeria.

Researchers and startups engaged in AI are invited to apply for grants of up to N5 million (Five million Naira). The primary objective is to support the development of a dynamic and sustainable AI environment in Nigeria by facilitating financial assistance and fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among individuals and organizations in the AI sector.
